My Collagen Conclusion (and recap for 2022!)

Is collagen worth the hype? Yes indeed. Here’s why…

Not to sound cliché, but I can’t believe it’s December already. I started my collagen journey in July 2022 and now I can’t picture my daily routine without it.

My Skin Then vs. Now

I’d always thought that something was missing from my skincare routine. And that’s an odd statement to make for a Beauty Editor. For years, I’ve used top skincare products with brilliant active ingredients, visited the best spas and skincare specialists in the country, experienced life-changing facial treatments yet I still felt like I wasn’t doing enough.

After The Harvest Table introduced their new collagen range Nutrafy to me, I was excited to add this new step to my daily routine. I’d read rave reviews about collagen powder and couldn’t wait to start my journey.

In July, you’ll notice that my complexion is quite sallow and dull-looking. After a few weeks of adding Nutrafy to my day, the change in my skin is clear as it looks brighter, more radiant and healthier. August and September were challenging as I moved house and even though I had the odd blemish, overall, my skin was glowing. Fast forward to present day, December 2022 and you’ll notice that my skin is happy. And I am over the moon about it.

In July my skin looked sad! I love the transition it went through. In August you can definitely notice an improvement.

September was a busy month which took its toll on my skin. In October and November, I was settled in my new home and my skin was glowing.

Look at my Nutrafy December glow! I’m so proud.

I started off with the Nutrafy for dry and sensitive skin but then moved over to the one for oil prone skin to assist with my redness and inflammation.

To recap, these are the ingredients you’ll find in the Nutrafy Oil Prone Skin collagen powder:

~ Sea Buckthorn: to reduce breakouts by signaling the oil glands to stop excess production of sebum. It also reduces inflammation to prevent further flare-ups, helps the appearance of scarring and improves over all skin texture.

~ High potency probiotics at a concentration of 15 billion CFU per serving support a healthy gut and healthy gut skin axis to help the skin retain moisture and elasticity. Read more about the pros of probiotics here. (There’s also a great smoothie recipe in this post too!).

~ Hyaluronic Acid binds to water in the skin to retain moisture, it decreases the appearance of wrinkles and leaves the skin looking and feeling supple. Read more about all the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid here.

~ Zinc encourages the production of collagen and elastin, helps with inflammation and helps to achieve a bright and even-toned complexion.

~ This wonder blend is of course, powered by collagen which helps suppress hidden blemishes.

My everyday go-to: The Nutrafy for Oil-Prone Skin Collagen Powder

All of the Nutrafy collagen powders are best taken with cold foods and drinks as the probiotics are heat sensitive. You can have it in cereal, juice, smoothies or yogurt. Just add two table spoons of your Nutrafy each morning to your cold breakfast.

I created a small meal which I dubbed ‘My Breakfast Bowl’ each morning before my workout. And it was delicious!

The recipe was simple:

  • 2 x table spoons of Nutrafy

  • 4 x table spoons of plain yoghurt

  • handful of Jungle Oats

  • small drizzling of honey

My Verdict

Collagen powder is something one needs in their routine. Well, I certainly did. I have prioritized my gut health which means I am looking after my skin properly, from within. And the results are fantastic.
